This report describes work done in 1972-1973 as an honors project, in the field of atmospheric electricity. The report is divided in three parts. The first gives some background theory of fair weather atmospheric electricity, and discusses the theory of charge separation in clouds. The second section describes the instrument used to measure the potential gradient of the electric field, and the procedure used during the observations: the third section presents the results, and gives some interpretation and comparison of the results with the work of others in this field.
